Inspiration – Oregon Coast Photographer

I met up with Jayden and Jordan for the dreamiest fall engagement session at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City, Oregon. We started shooting about an hour before sunset — and for November on the Oregon Coast, the weather honestly couldn’t have been better. Soft light, very few clouds, and a golden sunset that felt like a total gift this time of year.

These two showed up with the best energy: playful, fun, always laughing, and down for anything. Their three outfits — all in beautiful neutral tones — photographed perfectly against the sand, water, and warm sandstone cliffs.

Engagement Session

We began down on the sand, taking advantage of the soft light and open shoreline. Jayden and Jordan eased right into it with their natural connection and nonstop giggles. From there, we wandered into the sandstone canyon area where the warm textures and quiet pockets of light made everything feel even more romantic.

As the sun dipped lower, the sky exploded into one of the most stunning November sunsets I’ve seen in a while — glowing oranges and soft pastels lighting up the rocks behind them. It felt peaceful, effortless, and such a beautiful setting for documenting this season of their lives.

Driving Onto the Beach

One thing that makes this location so unique is that the area near the sandstone cliffs isn’t easily accessible unless you have the right vehicle. To reach the rock formations from the main access point, you’ll need to drive about half a mile down the beach, and the sand can get very soft in certain areas.

Because of this, I highly recommend using a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle if you plan on driving onto the beach. Standard cars often get stuck, especially during wet conditions or higher tides. If you don’t have a suitable vehicle, walking is always an option — it just adds a bit of extra time and effort, but the views and textures make it completely worth it.

This is one of the reasons sessions here feel so private and beautiful: fewer people make the drive, and the sandstone canyon area stays peaceful and untouched.

Neutral Outfit Ideas for Oregon Coast Engagement Photos

Jayden and Jordan brought three looks, all in soft neutral tones — a mix of dresses, sweaters, and jeans. Neutrals always photograph so beautifully at the coast because they blend seamlessly with the warm cliffs and soft blues of the ocean without taking attention away from the couple.
